Certification is considered an essential element of a profession. Certification examinations ensure that a professional has reached an established level of knowledge, and possess the competency, skill, and dedication necessary to excel in their chosen profession. A certification establishes credibility and respect among the stakeholders that the professional serves; and can also be a condition of career advancement and other professional opportunities.

A certification, unique to healthcare internal auditing, was identified as a necessary strategic goal by the AHIA Board in January 2015. Since then, AHIA has worked diligently to develop the Certified Healthcare Internal Audit Professional™ (CHIAP™) credential.
 
Healthcare internal auditing has been adopted as one of the cornerstones of corporate governance. As the premier healthcare internal audit organization, AHIA is the perfect match to lead this certification program.
 
   

• The application system will remain open until March 15, 2019.
• The first CHIAP™ exam cycle will be open for testing for 8 weeks beginning May 1, 2019!
• The CHIAP™ exam can be taken at any of the more than 250 PSI testing centers across the United States.
• A one-time only Grandfathering Program is being offered to qualifying, existing AHIA Members  during the period of January 15, 2019 through April 30, 2019.
